Something I started testing

Something I started testing.
Kind of time device …

When you press the button on the pen, click it and it ends up in a different position/mode and ballpoint pen is in write mode, it click once …
Then click again to get the button up and the pen is not in write mode …
That is one sequence.

Now you can use one, two or three sequence and get an exact time interval and is a little better and accurate than mental arithmetic, headcount.
Been thinking to test this taking rotor speed and using it with specific technique measuring the ball speed.

I like the idea that is similar towards tapping with your fingers and using human reflexes.
I think i once read that Kelly mention some one using some kind of pen taking rotor speeds in the past.
This cross my mind before, but never took the time testing it.

Just a fun experiment from my side.
I also notice that some pens sound more then others when clicking.
We need a discrete pen.

Lucky, try click with your teef sequence like 123, 123, 123. You gonna be impressed. ;D

Not a bad idea. 8)

Try this, it might help to,

JOYO JM-62 MINI ELECTRONIC PULSING METRONOME

http://www.joyoaudio.com/en/product/show_51.html

This is the only product i can find which i think is comparable to the YAMAHA ME-120BK, which was discontinued some time ago.

I ordered a couple recently, ill test their functionality when they arrive and attempt to put up an opinion/review.

LifeofLeisure.

Let me pin point out some things.
First I have Yamaha Metronome Watch, just want to mention it.

The idea using a pen and clicking is that you can start at any point taking time.
That open up to many different options clocking the ball with different methods and take rotor speeds.
And a pen is not a real device and still it can work as acc as one.

I like the Metronome you show me, very cool option.
Do you know the price?

With Yamaha Metronome Watch you can start it with pushing a button, but still it is a real device.
And it save battery after 15 min and you have to push a button for it to continue vibrating.

I just purchased 2 online for around US$60, they’d be around US$25 each.

12 13$ including shipping…

You also can find others… cheapers…

Essence is that you still will make errors in clicking. Imagine that you have simply device which when you click it begins to give you vibro which you programed . Forester easy can make you such device - even he can add such option to acrobat program and that will be much more acurate than what you want.

Mini Metronome just arrived.

Seems to be very functional for the purpose of keeping time. Really similar to the Watch Yamaha used to produce.

I think it is probably a wise move to disconnect the speaker if planning to use in Casino, no chance of it beeping at an inopportune time if the speakers disconnected.

The Pulses per second you choose to time at will have major bearing on your accuracy, oh and choosing a beat which is a multiple of regular heart beat helps to.

LifeofLeisure.

Nice …
So you disconnect sound and put it in pocket and just let the arm/hand touch it when you glance at the wheel.
No need feeling it vibrating at all times …

Yap! Just cut the wire… thats what l did… consider to replace vibrating motor as well, cas this one is wery strong. … when you go to the bathroom, everybody can heare it

Yeah i noticed that too, the vibrate function is really strong. Replacing it with something which does sharp silent pulses would be better, and more accurate to, when i have it set to audio i get better timing. The main issue i think is the whined up time on the vibrating motor.

Replacing the vibrating motor with something which gives off a sharp silent thump would be preferable. Perhaps a small solenoid with a little hammer that thumps.

Don’t forget you can get all this for free using your mobile phone and use it as vibrating metronome.

LifeofLeisure. [/quote]we can put same vibration motor, Forester used for ffv…

Yeah maybe, If not, I’m sure there would be some better stealthy signalling devise which could be adapted. I’m also sure Forester would have a good idea as to what what the most effective signalling devise is, he’s probably trialed a few i expect.

I am of the opinion the audio alert on the Mini pulsing Metronome is more effective though, it’s short sharp and precise, after listening to it for an extended period your timing is pretty good.

If you switch it on and listen to it beep away while you commute to the Casino, when you get there, the rhythm/beat will be playing in your head like a bad song.

It is a tantalizing thought using a metronome in the Casino to obtain more accurate timing, however it is against the rules and therefore can potentially compromise. Even using a watch (at the table), is breaking the rules,

and it can get pretty serious when there’s money involved.
