For me is clear why such is - distance depends on the angle at which the ball falls and on the concrete place where it touches the partition between the numbers on the tape. And that place is not in enough correlation with ball speed even in the last rotations.
I think need to forget about the ability to predict concrete spin - fully enough to know dispersion…
And for that, we need to notice and write what was in a concrete spin. That is not a hard task if are partners, but can be near to an unsolved task alone…
